Global Stop All Ban Evading

Hey everyone hope you're all doing well today, so basically tons of people complain about hackers & eventually the staff members get super annoyed while getting tons of hate from people cause they aren't always on to ban hackers so what I'm gonna say can reduce the hate and stop all ban evading in general.

1. Disabling Vpns/Hotspot

• Pros- Reduces Ban evading/ ip bans. Stops more members from complaining. Less hackers
• Cons- Tbh idk

2. Ip ban from hub; Same time punishments as on rules.

• Pros- Stops hackers from hopping on different game modes after they are banned on one. Stops people/hackers from just hopping on an alt and continue playing after they are banned. Reduces the amount of toxic players & hackers. Less staff complaints. Makes the server more strict so people won't hack anymore or be toxic.
• Cons- Ban evaders/hackers will complain a lot.

Disabling VPNs can be done with a plugin, what it does is stop anyone on a vpn to join the server, while ip bans can be done already without any plugins.

Overall my opinion is that doing this will make this server a much more calm, less toxic place & will reduce staff getting complaints by members saying that "oh you stupid idiot ban this hacker or I make staff report"

Support on the first suggestion. I can't support the second one, though. I play on the same IP as my brother and sister, and its not right if we all get banned because of one of us.

 

I agree but the results show on different servers as well that doing this makes a much better place and you won't have to worry unless you are breaking the rules in the first place which you shouldn't neither should your siblings.

 

There are thousands of VPN's that could be used. It's just a different network with different IP's. You're suggesting that they should go and ban all the VPN's? I don't support because what if someone's wifi blocks Minecraft? They would use a VPN to play but they weren't ban evading?

 

So your willing to sacrifice a peaceful environment for 1/500 people with that problem, makes sense. Majority over minority bro

These are great ideas, but as stated above, the ip ban would be unfair to their siblings who might not hack.

Easier said than done. Detecting VPN or Proxy usage is extremely hard, can be done by deep packet sniffing or IP sniffing (storing and comparing IPs or check packet requests thoroughly), a big fat database which contains VPNs and Proxy IP addresses from companies would be a great start (I worked on a plugin however it didn't get as much support as I had hoped so I lacked the interest).
