This suggestion is not just for OpPvP, but it goes for all the PvP gamemodes. I think there should be a few people on the server who are screenshare verified to be "Mineverse Sser's" These people get the command to freeze someone who they think is cheating and tell them to come into teamspeak for a screenshare. I know a few good pvpers who don't cheat and get banned without evidence of their own to counter appeal. You should round up a few of the better pvpers on the server who know how to screenshare/have experience screensharing to have this position (this is something you can apply for, but need to be interviewed/verified by others in the team). I've talked to a few of my friends and they also agree this will make a moderators job easier without banning someone/responding to a false appeal but it will also make the Mineverse community less toxic... people will stop saying bad things about being false banned. There is really no reason to say no to this, it has been denied because people refuse to give out their skype, but join.me is a thing. This was an idea I had for sometime now but I was just recently unbanned. Please do not right -1/+0/+1 without why you agree/disagree I would love to add more information to this thread so if anyone else has any ideas please let me know! <3
No. Firstly not everyone can ss or use teamspeak. That's the main issue. Secondly, this can easily be abused. What if the player is in combat? The person freezing them effectively kills them, which will cause a lot of problems. There is no need for the position or the perk, nor will this ever happen.
Those that we would trust to be SSers could just be promoted as mods ... No Support, if we just picked random people then it would be abused like heck. If a player didnt have Join.me then they would have to download it, for the SSers to have any effect they would need ban perms, after going through all of the process of interviews etc they may aswell just be promoted to mods.
If you read it you would of seen that I wrote people would have to apply and be approved for this, second if the mods we currently have learned to screenshare there would be no need for this, so either way works.
Screenshare is not evidence. Most clients come with a self destruct system where the player can just restart is game and his files will be removed. Players may also not want to ss therefore making this position obsolete. This in whole is a pretty bad idea.
Well if they think the player is cheating then they are able to record and report. It'll be solved there.
I'd be careful with what you say. "SS" also means "Sturmstaffel", which was Hitler's civil police called alike.
