This is not under Suggestions because I'd like to discuss with you regarding the attention given to Moderator Applications that do not meet the requirements after quite a long while. To those who do not know, Moderator Applications are supposed to be closed after 48 hours from the Moderator replies to it (as close as possible) if the applicant does not meet the requirements, which are: ~ 2FA enabled Skype/Teamspeak 3 50 messages on forums 2 weeks experience on the forums ~ After a while after this was implemented, Moderator Applications which had [48h] or [48] next to it did not really get removed (look at the pages 2/3, etc) of Moderator Applications. I'm not out to say that we should dash their hopes and even, dreams. I just think that if this was implemented, then something should be done with the Moderator Applications, at least, if not the implementation of this "rule" would be useless, in my opinion. This is a friendly discussion, what do you people think?
I'm assuming that the 48 hour deadline was put in place as a practicality to provide the applicant with enough time to reach the requirements. As you know, if an application doesn't reach the requirements, it will be closed. That's within the rules and within the rights of the moderators to close it if the applicant wasn't able to achieve what they needed after 48 hours. It's possible that some mods may have forgotten that they put the 48 hour deadline in, which is understandable as we are only human. (Or are we dancers)
You should look at the number of applications still up though. Some from "ages" (exaggeration), but you get it.
Well, I just checked one quickly then and the person has reached the requirements, but the title hasn't been edited. Maybe that's the problem.
That'll only be the case on very few. I've seen a few that could be closed. One which actually stated "Closed" in the title, but isn't.
The, "48h" thing in the first place was stupid, no wonder mods are forgetting, because they feel bad for people. Who can in 48 hours get 50 posts without post farming? No one. Its literally impossible for that to happen. I would say that the 48h thing not be implemented, however the application should not be accepted by Cypriot until the requirements are met.
There are all of those applications still there because that is what Cyp has asked that we do. He only just allowed us to start implementing the 48 hour deadline, which was his idea.
^ I agree, there's no point in putting someone under the amount of pressure required to cajole them into spamming the forums ._.
