Honestly, I thought the expansion of the End was a good idea :/ I think most people would agree that the End is a bit more interesting now. I've had some good fun with the elytra as well.
Minecraft is following what it was meant to be. Notch left Minecraft to Microsoft because he knew what the community had become. A community built on not updating the mechanics of the game. People hated him for what he made later when 1.8 came out and when he enforced a rule that had been there for years. Microsoft is now just touching on what he meant to finish. The game was built to originally be a castle defending fantasy world, where the limit was your imagination. It was a first of its kind at that era. Game developers were struggling to make something like Minecraft, where the player had no limits to what he/she could make. Not only is 1.10 giving the player more ways to explore, but giving the player more ways to experience a survival like life in Minecraft. It gives the game a more realistic aspect instead of just mobs spawning at random spots on the map, now certain mobs like vex have a purpose rather than just existing. They serve as a challenge to the younger player that stumbles on the mansion in the forest. To say this is bad is just purely childish. Btw, this comment is meant for the comments above.
