Below is a Bukkit plugin called "The Last Airbender"/"Bending". I believe that it would be an excellent addition to Mineverse. Waterbenders Water Manipulation /bending bind WaterManipulation Water Manipulation is the most fundamental bending technique of a waterbender. To use, place your cursor over a waterbendable object (water, ice, plants if you have plantbending) and tap sneak (default: shift). Smoke will appear where you've selected, indicating the origin of your ability. After you have selected an origin, simply left-click in any direction and you will see your water spout off in that direction, slicing any creature in its path. If you look towards a creature when you use this ability, it will target that creature. A collision from Water Manipulation both knocks the target back and deals some damage. You cannot have multiple of these abilities flying at the same time. Water Wall /bending bind WaterWall Water Wall is a key defensive ability of waterbenders. To use, place your cursor over a waterbendable object (water, ice, plants if you have plantbending) and left-click. Smoke will appear where you've selected, indicating the origin of your ability. After you have selected an origin, simply sneak (default: shift) in any direction and you will see your water spout off in that direction, forming a small shield of water wherever you are looking, so long as you are still sneaking. Additionally, left-clicking while the shield is formed will turn the shield from water to ice and back again, as a toggle. To stop concentration on the shield, simply stop sneaking or change to a slot that does not have Water Wall bound to it. Wave /bending bind Wave Wave is one of the most useful defensive bending techniques of a waterbender. To use, place your cursor over a waterbendable object (water, ice, plants if you have plantbending) and tap sneak (default: shift). Smoke will appear where you've selected, indicating the origin of your ability. After you have selected an origin, simply left-click in any direction and you will see your water spout off in that direction and form a large wave, knocking back all within its path. If you look towards a creature when you use this ability, it will target that creature. Freeze /bending bind Freeze Freeze is a very useful utility technique of waterbenders. To use, simply left-click. Any water you are looking at within range will instantly freeze over into solid ice. Provided you stay within range of the ice and do not unbind Freeze, that ice will not thaw. If, however, you do either of those the ice will instantly thaw. Melt /bending bind Melt Melt is another useful utility technique for waterbenders. To use, simply left-click. Anything around where you are looking at within range will instantly melt - snow, ice, etc. Since this is a more favorable state for these things, they will never re-freeze unless they would otherwise by nature or some other bending ability. Healing Waters /bending bind HealingWaters Healing Waters is a quintessential waterbending technique. To use, the bender must be at least partially submerged in water. If the user is not sneaking, this ability will automatically begin working provided the user has it selected. If the user is sneaking, he/she is channeling the healing to their target in front of them. In order for this channel to be successful, the user and the target must be at least partially submerged in water. Again, provided the user is sneaking, this ability will automatically begin working. Walk on Water /bending bind WalkOnWater Walk on Water is a trademark waterbending technique. To use, the bender must merely have the ability selected. Anytime the user walks over water, it is instead turned into a patch of ice. The patch will only remain as long as the user is within a short range or has the ability selected. Water Bubble /bending bind WaterBubble Water Bubble is actually functionally identical to the airbending Air Bubble. To use, the bender must merely have the ability selected. All water around the user in a small bubble will vanish, replacing itself once the user either gets too far away or selects a different ability. Water Spout /bending bind Water Spout Water Spout is a nifty utility technique of waterbenders. To use, simply have it selected. If you are in water at the surface and you try to swim up, water will begin funneling from below and lift you up in a column. You can move while in this column and it will stay under you, provided there's water (or ice, snow, etc) an adequate distance below to pool from. Skilled benders can also use this ability to take no falling damage if they're falling onto ice or shallow water, as the spout will pop up and cushion the fall. Plantbending /bending bind Plantbending Plantbending is a unique waterbending technique that does not have an active purpose. Instead, provided you have Plantbending bound to any of your slots, it augments the rest of your abilities. Instead of being limited to water, snow and ice for sources of water, you can instead use any plant as a water source. So instead of focusing your ability on water, you could, for example, focus it on a block of leaves and it would suck the water out of the leaves for your other technique. Chiblocker Acrobat Stance /bending bind AcrobatStance AcrobatStance is a Chiblocking ability allowing a Chiblocker to anticipate their opponents move, thus giving them a higher probability to block their Chi. Using the AcrobatStance gives the user a speed and jump boost, due to a stance increasing their acrobatics. Unfortunately, this comes at a risk. Using this will increase the rate at which the hunger bar depletes, thus, the ability should be used with care. High Jump /bending bind HighJump HighJump is a Chiblocking ability that allows a Chiblocker to jump a high distance to reach previously unreachable areas. High Jump is a useful utility to climb mountains or reach areas to escape from enemies. This moves may be risky, if used without landing on a ledge and such, you could take fall damage. Paralyze /bending bind Paralyze Paralyze is one the key abilities in a Chiblocker's arsenal. Using paralyze allows a Chi Blocker to block the Chi of an enemy bender preventing them from doing anything. It may be difficult to get close enough to the opponent but if this ability is used in succession with RapidPunch, it can cause devastating damage. Rapid Punch /bending bind RapidPunch RapidPunch is an ability that allows a Chiblocker to punch an opponent rapidly causing higher damage than if the user did a regular punch. This ability can be used with other abilities in order to do more devastating damage. Smokescreen /bending bind SmokeScreen Smokescreen is a utility Chiblocking ability. When used, it gives everyone within a radius of the smokescreen blindness for a few seconds, allowing Chiblockers to either make a quick escape or move in for the kill. When using this ability, Chiblockers must ensure that they are not close to the target as they could potentially blind themselves. Warrior Stance /bending bind WarriorStance WarriorStance is a Chiblocking ability that allows a player to get into the stance of an attack. Similar to the AcrobatStance ability, this stance gives a buff to the user to help with combat, while giving a debuff to prevent the Chiblocker from gaining too much power. Quick Strike /bending bind QuickStrike QuickStrike is a Chiblocking ability aimed to deal quick damage to a player with a small chance of blocking their Chi. Blocking a player's chi will temporarily disable their Bending, making a Chiblocker potentially lethal. Swift Kick /bending bind SwiftKick This ability allows the ChiBlocker to swiftly kick their opponent doing damage and having the chance to Chi Block the target. This attack is a stronger version of QuickStrike due to it doing more damage (2 hearts) and it has a higher chance of Chi Blocking foe (30%). The only problem is this ability will only work while the user is in the air. (Next thread cont.)
Nutruel, it would be a fun game mode to add It to, but then again we need to fix our game modes. I'm leaning toward no support more but Ill keep it neutruel
This feels like a modded Minecraft suggestion. Currently we have 0 modded gamemodes (heavily atleast) so I don't see this useful in any gamemode we have atm. However, this is a good idea for say Modded Survival or something, maybe Minecraft Airbender gamemode lol. So I'm pretty neutral, its nice I just don't know how it'll fit in the server we have atm.
The new Bukkit plugin actually has less. And most commands can't be used by actual Mineverse players anyways, as they're admin commands. Choosing your element and binding the abilities are the only commands that would be allowed, along with Mineverse's current commands. Well, I was thinking that it would be put off until other game modes were updated and fixed too, I don't want to add this so suddenly, especially with the hacker problem we've been having lately. I was thinking that we should fix the rest of the gamemodes before adding this one, Mineverse is having a few problems (that I have addressed in other threads) that need to be fixed before anything is actually added. It is mostly modded Minecraft, but the original plugin was supposed to be for a server based on the anime where people completed "story chapters" until they got to the final chapter. The server was nice until it went down, and other servers started using it as modded Minecraft. I'm revising my thoughts currently, and I think having this added to current Factions might be cool, if Mineverse wants to do that for their server. Otherwise, we should probably fix the other gamehubs before adding this, as there are a lot of problems Mineverse is having with the hubs themselves and the players in said hubs. I wasn't really trying to get this on Mineverse soon, but a lot of people are suggesting that's what I'm getting at. I just think that it would be interesting to have once the server calms back down and has fewer problems, which might be a while. Most commands would be for admins. The commands you see above are just for players to bind abilities. Once you bind your 9 abilities, I'm thinking a mod might have to lock the commands until you make an appeal to change them. That's what an old server did that I played on, it gave you a set of moves you could have, then let you pick them. Or, we just lock all of the OP moves. :P
Neutral. Although this would be cool, I feel that we need to work on our other gamemodes that are in critical need of fixing up. Also if we keep adding new gamemodes we're going to have more gamemodes than players lol
I like the idea, although MV still has a lot of bugs to fix for other gamemodes, adding a new one would be even harder to manage. If MV can fix most of the major bugs then I wouldn't mind supporting, but for now, neutral.
Well, if you scroll up, I did mention that several times in comments. I can't go through and edit this to add it in since there's no room for it. But yeah, I figured it would be a while before Mineverse got to it, which is totally fine. I just think it would be really interesting to add into the server.
And you swallow. Lmao, kidding. But really, provide reasons. I want constructive criticism, not hate. Especially on such an opaque level.
I used to work for a server that had Bending, so I know how to manage the plugins. They are complicated if you don't know what you're doing, but otherwise, it's easy. I think that players just need to know how to choose an element and bind their abilities, as well as know how to bend. As far as that goes, Air, Fire, and Water are the easiest. Chiblocking is really complicated, so I may remove it entirely. Earth is on a medium level and would be used for more experienced players.
