First, you can have a mod remove the rude comments which eliminates the need to lock it. If you don't want to wait for a mod to close it, use the report button. Secondly, locking and unlocking threads requires forum mod perms, has nothing to do where it is. Also any mod can unlock a locked thread, not just the mod who closed it. Suggestion 1: That would only make us search/dig for threads that need to be moved Suggestion 2: Giving everyone the ability to move threads will only create problems for the website This makes more work for both members and mods. So I don't know how this would be better. Again, this just makes more work for both members and mods. For people who are supporting this because mods take forever to close threads, here's a solution. Try using the report button. Using it will alert all mods, and the ones who are on at that exact time will see the report on the thread and resolve it almost instantly.
This could work very nicely though. There could simply be a button called "delete" which automatically moves your thread to a section only viewable by mods. The moderators can then go to this section when they're not stressed out and feel like they have time to lock them. Kind of the same way the reports currently works. All reports are saved in one spot, then when the moderators have time they can handle them.
No Support. Like @Triggress said, yeah, it's all good being able to lock your own thread, but then you have to move it to the archives. This will cause problems, as moving threads can be more strenuous than having them locked. If you're implying we give users the ability to move threads, that means there could be abuse of that system. I think this is your answer: It's really not that strenuous to have a thread locked, it will take a maximum of 12 hours.
Thank you for your feedback! Is there anything from this text you want me to add on the suggestion board?
If you look at the text, the bottom of the thread it says suggestions and it says @Triggress and @Apocalypses sugestion
There's almost always at least 1 staff member online on the forums at all times so just report your thread and request for it to be locked.
