I heard it has been changed to 7 days. The rules have not been edited, of course. I might be wrong though. Support anyway.
For racism/discrimination: 1-2 week(s) Death threats/wishes: 2-5 weeks It should just be a bit higher as lives are incredibly important, and there are going to be that minority who take death threat jokes a bit over the top. Support.
I know this never happends, but if a really depressed person actually kills himself, the one who told him to do that could have his IP tracked, we would know where he lives and he could actually be arrested. Neutral.
This has irked me for some time, it's odd that a racist/anti semetic/anti gay person can always come back to the server after a day, but a person who simply says ''kys'' is banned for a month? One guy on Infection (To my knowledge he was banned for a month) had a racist username and made racist remarks constantly on the server, and did it for 2 months until he was banned. It's just unacceptable. And, to me, a person saying rude/mean things to a person over a length of time, and not a person who just says kys with no context to it (most cases) is more likely to make the person suicide rather than the kys guy. It's always the people that do it over time that are the ones making people suicide. It's more damaging to have it happen again and again than just once.
No support. Even with the 30 day ban, what has been said cannot be taken back. It only takes one depressed to come on the server to be told to kill themselves, and possibly do. Even having someone consider the option of suicide is not okay. The suicide rate among teens (which is the largest age group of this sever) has increased dramatically over the years. I don't think lowering the punishment for the cause of a growing worldwide problem is the way to go. Look, I understand we all get upset at video games when things don't go out way. Heck, even I do. But any frustrations I have, I take out by cursing or saying rude things in real life. To take the time to stop playing and type in words to insult or wish death upon a person, takes time and thought. People know what they are typing. It's running through their heads when they are typing it in, it's their decision to press enter.
Thank you Cheers Thank you :D cheers Possibly the first time they do it 15 days then any more times 30. Thank you for your reply I understand where you are coming from thank you I do agree, thank you for your reply thank you Cheers I understand fully what you're saying I just don't see a person killing themselves over a raging 12 year old that lost his diamonds on survival. even with what you said I still believe increasing the time for being homophobic or racist is a good idea. Thank you for your reply.
Oh. I thought the thread was only about the one topic, as suggested by your title. I thought you were using the others as examples. Well support for the other two then.
No support. I think all the rules should be a 1 month ban. A rule breaker is rule breaker no matter what they did. Persistent bullying such as racism, homophobia, xenophobia and religious persecution should be permanently banned and the owners of the server should report the incidents to the authorities. (authorities of the victim and offender) Bullying (including cyberbullying) is illegal in nearly all of the developed world. UK Under UK legislation there is not a specific law which makes cyberbullying illegal, although it can be considered a criminal offence under legislation such as the Protection from Harassment Act and the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act USA Federal Law – In April 2009 a bill was passed to amend Title 18 of the United States Code, with respect to cyberbullying. The bill is cited as the “Megan Meier Cyberbullying Prevention Act”, after the Missouri teenager who tragically committed suicide following a cyberbullying campaign carried out by an adult neighbour.
No support, Telling someone to end there lives, can hurt someone. It doesn't matter what game it is, or if it's real life. You're telling someone to KILL themselves, physically hurt themselves, I think telling someone to Kill themselves SHOULD be a LONGER ban period.
