I would use it more for checking others bans, but yes this would be a AWESOME add to the forums. It would have to be updated constantly, I think pile can handle it though.

I usually just type in player names in the search bar, but this could be useful and more efficient for some people.

Support, sometimes moderators ban people whilst they're online, just because they seem them hacking, not from reports. This would mean that they would put this down in their ban log, but as there was no report, you wouldn't be able to find how you were banned, especially because sometimes theres no ban message in-game.

This would be helpful, imo. Then you can see any previous offenses, so they will be given the appropriate punishment. :)

Ok but if you can check your own bans then you would be able to check other bans unless there is a link between your account and the forums to restrict that.
I don't think people should be able to look up bans other than their own to that needs to be addressed.

Which will take some fiddling around. No support.

It's already possible to check other people's bans, just not as efficiently and as thoroughly as this thread suggests (search box + ign.) I just wanted to point out that being able to check other people's bans can be useful for reports. Being able to check if someone is already banned before spending the time reporting them and wasting a moderator's time reviewing it could be a nice addition to the forums (I know this is their 'job', but there is still no need for extra work.). Aside from that, a ban history can change someone's viewpoint of a Moderator Application. (Note: I'm aware that older offenses are supposed to be overlooked when supporting/etc an application, but what about new offenses?)
The following is mainly my opinion: Why should someone's conscious choice to break the rules be kept private? If this is something someone feels ashamed of, then they shouldn't have done it in the first place. I can understand the viewpoint that 'it's their business, not anyone else's', however, if breaking the rules didn't affect other people or even the community as a whole, then there would be no reason for a ban to be made to begin with. Why should this, which affects others, be kept private? If it was somehow done unintentionally, then it's not that hard to explain that... and it's not hard to ignore anyone that becomes annoying about it either.
Lastly, I don't know if this will change your opinion or not, but I'm curious, why do you think a person's ban history should be kept private?

Or, our ban history which is found on our profile page can not only be exclusive to mods.
